While you will need a telescope in order to see your star, the constellation
(area of the night sky) in which your star is located can
be seen with the naked eye. Scorpius, Virgo and Cancer are
examples of constellations.
However, different constellations are visible at different
times of the year. Furthermore, some constellations are
visible from some parts of the world, but not from others.
You can use the map below to determine which of
our constellations are visible from your home and when they're
visible. Just click on your approximate
location. (You don't have to click on the precise/exact
location of your community.) Then you'll be taken to a list
of the Name A Star Live constellations you can see, and
what time of the year you can see them. The constellations
will be visible at the same time of year, year after year.
We assume you will want to observe your constellation during
the mid-evening hours, sometime between sunset and midnight.
We also assume you have a clear view of the horizon: If
you live in a hilly or mountainous region, for example,
you may need to climb to a higher elevation to see your
constellation.
Also, consider adding a Planisphere
Constellation Finder to your order.
Click on this
map to tell what constellations you can see and when you
can see them.
